Description

The Goods IN/Warehouse Operative will be responsible for managing the receipting of all incoming goods into stores as well as assisting the Despatch Supervisor with the day-to-day duties of despatch. In addition, the jobholder will be required to assist with other warehouse/operations duties as needed and instructed by the Packaging Manager.

Responsibilities

  1. Goods Inwards: 
  • Book in all deliveries from the Goods IN area and enter all information into the GR log spreadsheet. Print all relevant labels as part of the booking in process. 
  • Inspect the condition of goods and report damaged goods to the Packaging Manager. 
  • Check quantities of goods received against delivery notes and purchase orders and immediately report discrepancies to the Packaging Manager (packing items) or Production Manager (raw materials). 
  • Move QC approved materials and store them in the correct storage areas. Move goods around the warehouse into/out of racking areas. Move pallets as required depending of space constraints.  
  • Organise the warehouse and other storage areas. 
  1. Assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles (during deliveries and despatches) 
  1. Assist with the preparation of consignments and outbound shipping, as required.  
  1. Pick components for issue to assembly, as required. 
 
  1. Assist with periodic stock checks and annual stock-take. 
 

  1. Work in a safe, orderly manner with regard for the safety of others and in accordance with company health and safety policy and procedures.  Work in accordance with Procedures Manual and general company procedures and Work Instructions. 
 
  1. Maintain the warehouse in a clean and tidy condition.   
 
  1. Inform Management (Production and Packaging) of any ideas for potential improvement in safety, training, procedures, products, etc.
